Here is the simple version of the identity and supporting documents usually needed to get married in Darwin.

To get married, your celebrant needs enough evidence to be satisfied about your identity, your date and place of birth, and whether any previous marriage has ended.

  • a passport or birth certificate as evidence of date and place of birth
  • photo ID
  • evidence of any previous divorce or widowhood, if relevant
  • official translations if documents are not in English
